Shoogly Beads is a husband and wife design team based beside the sea in Stonehaven on the lovely Northeast coast of Scotland. Mike is responsible for the gorgeous polymer clay beads and Pat is responsible for the jewellery design. The 'Shoogly' part of our name comes from a good Scots word meaning shaky, wobbly, swinging......just what beads and charms should do when you hang them off things.......a charm bracelet should be very shoogly as should dangly earrings! We also make and sell exclusive beads, pendants, charms, buttons and other bits and pieces in polymer clay. These can be used for your own creations! Pat has also re-discovered her love of painting and other crafts and some of these have been added to our shops. Currently we are selling our contemporary jewellery, polymer clay, art work and knitting via Folksy and Etsy

Rainbow

It seems we have snow forecast for this week. I don't know why people are so surprised at this announcement...It is November after all!!
Today is cold but still no sign of the promised snow. Instead it has been bright and sunny for the most part with angry black clouds scudding overhead in the afternoon.
The combination of dark clouds and low sun triggered a beautiful rainbow at the back of the house. I photographed the rainbow from the workshop ( actually it's our dining room!)  and noticed, when I looked at the photo later, I still have geraniums in flower!! A record I think!

It's not the best picture I've ever taken but rainbows just always make my day.
I've made a fair number of bracelets over the years with a rainbow theme . Pictured is one I made as a gift three or four years ago. All of my rainbow bracelets have featured Swarovski crystal and silver but each one has been different because the silver components change. I can't remember the last time I made a Rainbow perhaps today was a hint... so guess what I just might be doing later today!!
